Creating a safe environment for students is of utmost importance to us. Here are some of the security measures we have put into place to ensure student safety.
Both the main gate and the side gate are manned by security personnel.
The side gate is closed once students enter at 8.40 a.m. Entry to the school is only through the main gate after 8.40 a.m.
Over 200 CCTV cameras are installed on the school premises.
All staff members undergo police verification on employment
Resource persons deputed by our partners are required to submit a police verification certificate at the start of the academic year.
All maintenance staff who visit the school are issued with temporary ID cards and their activities on the school premises are monitored.
Supervisory/vigilance rounds are regularly made by the Principal, co-ordinators and administrative staff
Staff members are trained to watch for and report any unknown or suspicious persons loitering outside the campus.
The school issues photo ID cards to all students, as well as Parent ID and Escort ID cards for parents and others authorised to pick students up after school.
Visitors are escorted at all times by a staff member.
All visitors to the school including visiting maintenance staff and partners/vendors are issued with temporary ID cards and their activities on the school premises are monitored.
The school has a Child Protection Policy in line with the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act).
As mandated by the Education Department and the Police, the school has instituted a Child Protection Committee consisting of a Child Protection Officer, the school Principal, one child safety expert, two staff members, two students and two parent members. The CPO has been appointed as the first point of contact in case of any untoward incident occurring in the campus
Fire safety is taken care of with a fire exit plan, extinguishers and regular fire drills as well as periodic staff training.
The school-run transport service is equipped with fire extinguishers, a GPS tracking system, CCTV cameras, speed governors, safety grills on windows and a first aid box.
Lady attendants are present on every school-run bus.
All drivers and attendants are police-verified.
Drivers and attendants are regularly counselled regarding their social skills and safety of students.
Parents of students who go home unaccompanied each day are expected to either indicate this in the Transport form or (if only on occasion) submit an email authorizing us to release their child from the gate unaccompanied by an adult.
If a student is to be picked up by someone other than previously authorised persons, an authorisation email from one of the parents is mandatory. The person picking up the student must show a government issued photo ID before the student is released into their care.
All students are escorted to their designated transport areas by their class teachers and released into the care of the authorised persons after checking their ID cards.
After picnics or excursions, the Principal and teachers wait until every child has been picked up.
Our in-house counsellors are available throughout the working day in case any student needs help, advice, or even just feels the need to talk to an adult.
For students of classes 1 to 10, regular sessions on personal safety and emotional wellbeing form part of the curriculum and are conducted by professionals from Enfold India, the country’s leading personal safety education advocates.
Minor physical ailments and injuries are attended to by a qualified staff nurse in the infirmary. In some cases, the student may be taken to hospital for further attention.
The Student Council runs annual campaigns related to issues like bullying, when to speak out, when to act, and whom to approach when in need.
Staff is regularly counselled about our zero tolerance policy towards corporal and other forms of abusive punishment, as well as about the vision, mission and ethos of the school.
All teaching and administrative staff members undergo awareness and gender sensitization training on an ongoing basis.
